National Childrens Museum

A completely different and exciting world for Children in Delhi is the National Children’s Museum in Bal Bhawan Complex on Kotla Marg. Designed on a unique note of understanding child psychology better, this museum is made exclusively for children and it aims at educating the children about India’s culture, tradition and life. The museum has a large collection of dolls, toys, traditional jewellery, art and craft material, and currency from various countries.

The museum houses permanent galleries in which different aspects of Indian tradition, history, and art are focused. Hamara Bharat focuses on the Indian art, tradition, culture and achievements in the field of Science and Technology through the audio visual shows. Gaurav Gatha deals with India’s past history, civilizations, freedom struggle projected through a series of diorama. The Sun Gallery teaches the importance of the Sun in the living world, the phenomenon’s of the Solar System and its religious consequences in India and other countries like China, Egypt and Greece.

The exhibition corner, Children’s Creative Corner, displays work of art from Jawahar Bal Bhawan and Bal Bhawan Kendras. During the summer months the place becomes vibrant with workshops on art, craft, theatre, dance, music. Children are groomed under professional hands. A lot of other activities such as puppet shows, drama kits are made available to the children to enhance their creative skills.

Within the complex facilities of a hostel, games, mini toy train, jet fighter, clay modeling and an aquarium are made available. A visit to this place will be an out of the world experience for all children.
