National Gallery of Modern Art
National Gallery of Modern Art is entrusted with the tracking and preservation of changing art forms through the last century starting from the year 1857 till the present day. The chief responsibility of the National Gallery of Modern Art is to maintain quality and standard in all its activities. This is the only institution of its kind that is run and administered by the Government of India.
The main aims and objectives of the institution are to acquire and preserve modern art as well as maintain and develop galleries for permanent display. It also organizes special exhibition throughout the world. The institution develops educational and documentation centers in order to acquire, maintain and preserve documents relating to works of modern art. Conferences and lectures are held by the organization to improve visual and performing arts also.
Visitors to Delhi will definitely learn a lot about India and Indian culture by visiting this institution. The Gallery has some wonderful artifacts, photographs and various other objects that you might find interesting.
