General Info of Rajasthan

Area           : 342,214 square km.

Capital        : Jaipur

Land           : Most of Rajasthan is desert.

Mountains   : Aravali hills.

Rivers         : Chambal, Luni and Banas.

Climate       : Very Hot & Dry and very little rainfall.

Vegetation  : Babul, Cactus, & Throny Bushes grow here.

Occupation : Farming is the main occupation. The farmers grow wheat, bajra, jowar, pulses, cotton, oil-seeds and tobacco. The people of Rajasthan make beautiful handicrafts in brass, silver, lacquer, wood, leather and pottery.

People       : Rajasthanis are sturdy, brave and cheerful people who are fond of wearing colourful clothes. Men wear kurta, dhoti and colourful turbans. The women wear a colourful blouse called kanchi, ghaghra and odhani.
